apple blossoms

hello!
today I have this card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog - and I love it!

it's been something that I had bouncing around my head for weeks!! and I finally found the time (and motivation! lol) to make it!
I stamped the images from Autumn Apples, Newton's Hanging Basket and Cherry Blossoms and then colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. once they were dry, I splattered white ink on to of everything and then die cut them out once they were dry.

for the background, I used Alcohol Inks in greens and black. it's been a while since I've made an alcohol ink background, and it was so fun and easy! also, love how it makes the red apples pop!

I used a bunch of the little leaves and placed them around the card to add more gree.
and I finished off the card by heat embossing the sentiment in white onto black cardstock and fussy cutting it out.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #206 - There's No Place Like Home

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

this challenge really stretched my skills! lol
for some reason, it was a struggle!

what a fun theme!

I stamped and colored the images from Screen Time, Little Snow Globe: Dog, Keep On Swimming and Window Scene: Winter with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. then I added some details with a white gel pen and used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

 

Brace yourself, I didn't do any ink blending!!
instead, I used some of the beautiful paper from Gleeful Gradients! wow! I'll never get over how much I love that paper pad!
I used some white woodgrain paper for the ground of the house.

I stamped the sentiments from Screen Time in Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink to look like a text, and popped it up with foam tape!
I love the versatility of this card, but also that it's perfect as a masculine card, something I struggle with!

Celebrating 20 Years of Inspiration by Jenn Shurkus!

i'm SOOOOO excited to be participating in the celebration of 20 years of Inspiration by Jenn Shurkus!

It was almost impossible to pick just ONE card to be inspired by that Jenn has created, I had about 25 cards in mind! lol!
ultimately, I chose this card to create my own version!

it's so FUN and whimsical and I just love the colors!
so here's my version:

I have to admit, I do like's Jenn version way better! but I had a BLAST making mine, and that's what inspiration and making cards is all about, right!?
I stamped and colored the images from You're the Zest and Fangtastic Friends with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I added details with a white gel pen and then die cut them out.

for the background, I used Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks to ink blend. then I used the same colors to add a watercolor layer on top.
once it was all dry, I used white embossing paste and the new Woodgrain Stencil. LOVE the texture it adds.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto black cardstock, and then die cut it out with the Stitched Sentiment Banners.

you autumn know!

hello!
today I have a card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!
the current challenge is all about feeling that autumn vibe! so FUN!

autumn is my favorite season, and I love making cards for this cozy season!
I stamped and colored the images from You Autumn Know, A Bug Deal, Bubbles of Joy and You’re Just My Type with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I also added some details with a white gel pen. and once they were all dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

I did a whole lot of ink blending for the background!
I started with a white cardstock base. then I used the new Autumn Breeze Stencil with Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade. I pressed my embossing ink pad through the stencil and then added some clear powder on top and heat set it to lock in the color.
then I used Distress Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Salvaged Patina for the sky.
I also used Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron for the ground. then I used the Stitched Hillside Borders to die cut out the layers.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock and then die cut it out with the Fancy Wavy Banners dies.

all the sunflowers!

hello!
today I have a fun, flowery card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!

what did I tell you?
so many flowers! lol!
I stamped the images from Sunflower Days and the new Autumn Fields stamp sets and colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I splattered some white acrylic ink on to and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out once they were dry.

for the background, I ink blended a card background from white cardstock in greens with Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron. then I splattered the same ink colors and also some more white acrylic ink on top. then I die cut that out with the new Card Layout 5 Die Set!
I popped up the triangles with foam tape onto my card base.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock. then I used the small banner from the Frames & Flags die set to die cut it out.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #205 - Awesome Autumn

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

I had so much fun coloring up these beautiful bats!

so fun!
these bats are just adorable!

I stamped and colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers from Fangtastic Friends and Fangtastic Friends Add-on. I also added some details with a white gel pen, of course!
once the images were dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

 

I did some ink blending for the background of the card, too! well, lots of ink blending! lol!

I used Distress Inks in Black Soot, Uncharted Mariner, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio.
I used the Nighttime Sky Stencil for the moon and clouds! I also used Cracked Pistachio for the moon details!

for the clouds, I used white embossing paste.
the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock. and I finished off the card with a sprinkling of minty sequins!

today I have a super fun pirate-themed card up on the Lawn Fawn blog! I love it!

it came out so cute!
I stamped and colored the images from On the Beach, Ahoy, Matey, How You Bean? Money Add-on and Fintastic Friends with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I added lots of details with a white gel pen and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

for the background, I did LOTS of ink blending!
I used Distress Inks in Ground Espresso, Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber for the shore. I splattered the same colors all over the shore to give it a sandy look. and for the ocean, I used Uncharted Mariner, Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina. then I used a very dry brush and some white acrylic paint. I tapped on the white paint with the dry brush to create the sea foam spray! LOVE!

I used the Knock Knock, Who's There? die set to create the interactive element!
it's one of the easiest dies to use and I LOVE it!

I couldn't resist adding the cute little hermit crab inside the door! and the fun speech bubble just cracks me up!
I wanted the card to look like the treasure chest was being opened up and reveling even more treasure! ha!

all of these new products are so fun!
and sooooo versatile!

my first card uses the very cozy Autumn Fields stamp set!

I stamped the images and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. and of course, I added some details with a white gel pen! once eveyrthing was dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out. 

I used a Distress Inks in Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold and Mustard Seed to create the warm background. then I used the same colors but with the Jack-o'-Lantern Stencil Set (minus the faces!) to add more tone-on-tone interest! then I used Vintage Photo for the stems of the pumpkins.
I also used Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber for the grass at the bottom. then I used the Land Borders Die Set to die cut it out!

 

 

of course I splattered some white acrrylic ink on top, then popped up the images with foam tape. the sentiment was heat embossed in white and then die cut out with the thinnest banner from the Frames & Flags Die Set.

 

my next card uses the new and super adorable Pumpkin Tails stamp set!

LOOOOOOVE this one!
I colored these images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, too.
then after some details with a white gel pen, I die cut them out.
I die cut out 5 ovals from the Oval Frames Die Set and then used Seedless Preserves, Milled Lavendar, Chipped Sapphire and Dusty Concord Distress Inks.

 

 

 of course, I splattered some of the same ink color and white acrylic ink onto the background, too!

then I die cut the banner from black cardstock using the Frames & Flags Die Set. then the sentiment was heat embossed.

 

love how it came out!
