for my cards, i combined the new Tag Sampler set and Summer Scoops! :)

LOVE how this came out! I stamped the yummy frozen treats in black ink onto the card base, then splattered all over it with teeny tiny black dots!

i watercolored the tag with Distress Inks in Dried Marigold and Seedless Preserves! i am loooooooving that color combination for some reason!!! YES - even though there is purple!! ha ha! :)

the bees knees!

hi there!

today i have a set of cards up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog! :)

i used the adorable, and newly released Winston's Honeybees stamp set!
i seriously LOVE set!

i stamped the images onto watercolor paper and then watercolored the images with Distress Markers!
i fussy cut them all out, and then arranged them over that circular shape in the background!

i used a honey comb shaped stencil and some embossing paste to create the texture on the cards! i really llike how that looks!
the sentiment was masked and heat embossed over the black bit of cardstock!

head on over to the Newton's Nook Designs blog to see my project, too (if it strikes your fancy!)!

Newton's Nook Designs April Release - Tag Sampler

yay! it's the 2nd day of Newton's Nook Designs April Release

today, the whole DT is showcasing the ADORABLE and FUN Tag Sampler stamp set!! i love love love this set! it's perfect for ANYONE who loves to also get their paws fuzzy, as well as inky! ha!
this set coordinates PERFECTLY with the Tags Times Two Die Set!! Bonus, right!?
you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on April 21st, right here!

for my 1st project, i created a fun card!!

i think this would be perfect to send along with a homemade project to someone!!
now - full disclaimer here: i don't knit! i used to know how to do a basic knitting stitch, but you know what say: you don't use it, you lose it!
BUT - my good friend DOES knit, and i am going to send her this (blank!!) card so she can send it to someone with a knitted project!! so FUN! :)

ok, back to the card: i created the background by simply pressing down with my Black Soot Distress Paint dauber - INSTANT polka dots! ha!
the tag was watercolored with Ken Oliver Color Bursts and then i popped up the 'knitted' part! i finished it off with some Spectrum Noir glitter pen action! :)

for my 2nd project, i made a layout with the tags!!!

AND I FREAKING LOVE IT!! ha ha!!
hello - rainbow colored tags are PERFECTION!! i love all things rainbow, and this makes me happy! ha ha! I used a combination of Distress Inks and Ken Oliver Color Bursts to create the watercolored tags!

i stamped various phrases from the stamp set onto the tags, because let's face it, this layout is about the 'Mario Karts' i made for my little Menn, and they better appreciate them! ha ha!!

I just did a little embossing paste/stencil action on the background, and then added the title and a few wood veneers to add some extra pizzazz! :)

Newton's Nook Designs April Release - Winston's Honeybees

let's hear it for the Newton's Nook Designs April Release

today, the whole DT is showcasing the super cute, super versatile Winston's Honeybees stamp set!!! i instantly FELL IN LOVE with this set! i am not lying when I say, I've already made 11 cards with this set!! ha!
and this set is in a new 4x4 size!! how cool is that?!
you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on March 18th, right here!

for my 1st card, i created a sweet, little scene for winston to eat his hard earned honey in peace! lol!

I watercolored the images with Distress Markers, and then fussy cut them out! The background was created by blending Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron). I love how the clouds fade out in the background!

I also addded some glossy accents to the honey and the bees wings...because...shiny is fun!! :)

for my second project, I actually made a set of 5 cards!!

i created rainbow colors in Distress Stains onto watercolor paper. once it was all dry, I heat embossed (in white) the bees, clouds, hives, etc. LOVE how they pop!

i also heat embossed the sentiment onto strips of black cardstock, and then machine stitched on all of the little pieces!

finally, i just added some white thread under the popped up sentiment!

Sweet Stamp Shop April Release!

**this is my 2nd post of the day! to see my super sharky card for Newton's Nook, scroll down or click here!**

hi again!

Sweet Stamp Shop is ready to release their all of the new sets for April today! be sure to join the Sweet Stamp Shop Facebook group to get all the latest information, and perhaps even a discount code...ha!

i made two cards using sets for this release, and they are just fun and cool! total Sweet Stamp Shop! ha!
my first card used the new Dentist Plans stamp set, which i am in LOVE with!!

it's so crazy that i love this set so much, considering i HATE the dentist!! like...for reals. but look at those sweet little teeth!! eeeee! sooooo cute!!

i colored the main image with copics and then popped it up for some fun! the background has many of the other images from the set stamped in a tone on tone on the kraft background! SO MUCH FUN! ha!

my second card uses the new Muggin' stamp set, and i just KNOW that everyone is going to go crazy for that set!!

again, i used copics to color the images! i mirror stamped one of the mugs, so the handles were on opposite sides, and then fussy cut them out!

wouldn't this be the CUTEST anniversary card?! ha! in addition to the new set, i also used the ADORABLE  Rules of Love stamp set! :)
i love that light woodgrain paper with the bold black and white washi down the side - so fun!

so those cards just showcase part of the new April release!
be sure to check out all of the new goodies and get your favorites today!
enjoy!

you're so jaw-some!

good morning!

today i'm up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog with this fun card!! ha! i love it!

i used the super cool Shark Bites stamp set and did some watercoloring! :)
i used Distress Markers to color the shark, and then Distress Inks (pressed directly onto a round stamp block which i then misted and pressed to my card front) to create the 'ocean' background!

my favorite ocean colors are Chipped Sapphire, Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass! looooooove those blues!!

then i heat embossed some white waves and the jaw-some sentiment! i also added a strip of silver chevron washi down the side of the card because it reminded of the silvery-ness of a shark! :)

be sure to head over to the Newton's Nook Designs blog to read more and to get ready for the April release next week!! It's AWESOME!!! i can't wait for you to see!!
enjoy!

Create a Smile Countdown to the April Release

hi hi hi!

this week is the Create a Smile Stamps April release, and it's got something for everyone, i tell you!!

i have two cards up on the Create a Smile Stamps blog today, along with a bunch of other AMAZING cards by the rest of the team!!!

my first card uses the Nautical Stars stencil and the new Just Because stamp set!

i create the background by rubbing gesso onto the stencil over card front, using a dry baby wipe! it's that easy, i just wiped it on!
once it was dry, i used some soft watercolors in rainbow-y hues to add color!

the sentiment was heat embossed silver on vellum! it was SO hard to take pictures of the card due to the shine and softness! i'm usually more BOLD!!

which brings me to my next card!

i used two new items: the Aloha Spirit stamp set and the Thanks Twice die!

i used Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron to add some watercolor to the card front. once that was dry, i stamp the flower and leaf images in black! LOOOOOVE how that looks!

Then i die cut the sentiment out of distress ink colored paper and overlaid the black trim from the second die! i am in LOVE with that style of die!!

so those are my cards!
be sure to head over to the Create a Smile Stamps blog to see the rest of the AMAZING inspiration the team has to offer!!
enjoy!
