i lick you!

**this is my 2nd post of the day! to see my card for the brand new Inky Paws Challenge click here, or scroll down**

hey hey!
i'm back! and this time, it's not with a card! *gasp* i know! :)

i am over on the create a smile stamps blog sharing a treat bag! yay!! i know lots of people like to make treat bags, especially around halloween, so i thought i'd give it a whirl too! we're still going stong with the collaboration with Wycinanka, and i have to tell you, i'm JUST as much in love with their products!

so here it is:

yay!
i used that cute frog from jungle fever and colored him with distress markers! he he! and then i took that tongue image and covered it with glossy accents, to add shine! and speaking of shine, there's also some splattered mr huey's SHINE mist too! ha!

alright, to learn more about how i made this treat bag, head on over to the create a smile stamps blog
see you there! :)
enjoy!

inky paws challenge - colors!

it's friday! we made it!!
and i couldn'tbe happier! it's one day closer to me being able to catch a little zzz's! lol!

with that being said, it's a super AWESOME friday, because it's also the first day of the newest inky paws challenge over at the newton's nook designs blog! so exciting!!

i LOOOOOOVE the fall colors of the inspiration photo! and that kitty! eek! so adorable!! :)

i used the new newton's perfect pumpkin for this card, but i totally pumped it up! (well, in my mind i pumped it up! lol!)

see? ha ha! i colored all of the imges with copics, and then used some vellum grass to create the scene. the vellum was colored with some distress inks (shabby shutters and mowed lawn) and then the yellow sky (glow from the moon, perhaps?!) is watercolored with squeezed lemonade! love!

but the most exciting part of the card for me, was adding the doodles to the pumpkins and hat!! i'm totally loving doodling on cards, right now! and instead of making it a background, why not enhance some stamps? so fun! the hat is my favorite!! i think it looks like there's a lace layer on top, or something! (so thanks Danielle for that suggestion!! ha!)

so that's my card!
now it's YOUR turn!! be sure to get your newton's nook stamps and play along! i would LOVE to see your creations! :)
enjoy!

surprise for you!

hello there!

today i have a super fun and fresh card to share that i created for the current CAS on Sunday challenge! it's all about using sequins (ok...twist my arm! lol!)!

and bonus - create a smile stamps is sponsoring the challenge!! awesome!!!

i happened to use the penguin party stamp set from create a smile for my card!

i colored the cute little image with copics and popped it up over some crumpled vellum! the vellem was then placed over some white thread onto of a handcut banner. the banner was made with a stencil and two different embossing pastes! i used gold and then clear transuscent! the clear embossing paste was mixed with peacock feathers and evergreen bough distress inks to get the color! i LOVE the mix of colors it gives! almost like a tarnished/aged metal?!

anyway, the banner was then also popped up and then the super amazing sequins from from studio calico's color theory were added and i LOVE the added sparkle they add!

so that's my card! be sure to play along for your chance to win some create a smile goodies! (ps - they have stencils now!!!! yes!)
enjoy!

a purr-fect birthday today!

hello!

today i have a card over on the newton's nook blog! yahoo! so fun! :)

i used the super fun and super celebratory newton's birthday bash stamp set! i just LOVE that set!

that kitty image floating on the balloon, is just so adorable!
i color the images with copics and then added some twine to the bottom of the balloon as the string! :) there's also a thick layer of glossy accents on that balloon! because...why not? :)

that background was created by blending distress inks over a stencil! evergreen bough and chipped sapphire ROCK together, i tell you! :) next, i put some translucent embossing paste over top to make it shine!

love how it turned out! i hope it made you smile!
enjoy!

you are simply wonderful

hello!
*yawn* i'm TIRED today...and it's only tuesday...i think this may be a long, sleepy week! lol!

well, hopefully the card i'm sharing today will help perk me up, after all, i do love it! :D

i created this card for the current mama elephant and me challenge! it's about paper piecing (my first love!) and thank you cards!

no that's a fun challenge! :)
here's my card:

i love it!
i paper pieced each of those origami birds with three different patterned papers! i just KNEW the origami set would be perfect for this cahllenge! :) then i used the landscape trio creative cuts to create the waves of the water in vellum. I chose three different aqua patterned papers, cut them in  the loose shape of 'rays' and then also die cut those through with the landscape trio die (i wanted to keep the stitching at the top!)

i LOVE that sentiment, it's perfect for thank you cards, and expressing appreciation, i think! it's from the smitten stamp set, one of my favorite sets! i just LOVE the sayings, and that feather on it too! the panel was popped up onto the card base, and then a few sequins sprinkled here and there for a little extra something something! :)

so that's my card!
hope you all have an awesome day! :)
enjoy!

it's a penguin birthday party!

hello there!

today is my day over on the create a smile stamps blog! and i just LOVE this card i'm sharing today!

i used lots of chipbaord-y pieces from wycinanka (AMAZING PRODUCTS people!) and the penguin party stamp set!

ha ha! what's better than a penguin birthday party?
i just LOVE that little penguin parachuting down to join the fun!

all of the stamped images were colored with copics and popped up with foam tape! then i added a few enamel dots to finish it off! so much dimension! and yet, it's NOT heavy or bulky! amazing, right?

so check out my post on the create a smile stamps blog! i talk about this card, the wyncinanka products and the NEW product from create a smile - STENCILS!!

enjoy!

Newton's Nook Designs September Release - Apple Delights

*sniff sniff*
it's the last day of newton's nook's release for september!

the good news is: all of the new sets will be available for purchase on September 19th, here!

today we're sharing the
Apple Delights mini set! it's super sweet and totally makes me think of fall, and apple cider, and mmm, warm donuts! lol!

i decided it would be fun to ppaer piece! i LOVE my copics and watercoloring, but sometimes it's nice to paper piece too, right?

i used white embossing paste onto the white background for the crisp and clean feel, which i thought would go perfectly with the apples!

the sentiment was stamped onto some vellum and that's it! LOVE those caramel colored apples! i want to take take a bite! lol!

my next card is more fall, and warm and makes me wish i could put a sweater on! (it's still in the 90's here, and SUPER humid! so making these cards was a nice escape!)

i created the backtround with hero arts pale tomato and soft sand onto some khaki paper and the smallest of the apple stamps! :) my favorite is that some of the red apples were stamped upside down!
then i used some distress inks on the edges and popped up the apple for extra dimension!

the dark woodgrain banner was added and then i stitched along the edges!

Newton's Nook Designs September Release - Spooky Street

wow, day 3 of newton's nook's release for september is here! are you loving the release so far!?

all of the new sets will be available for purchase on September 19th, here!

today we're sharing the Spooky Street! this is a totally different style for Newton's Nook, and i love it!!! it screams halloween, and i think that's awesome!! (even though i'm totally more of a cutesy halloween girl myself! these images can be dressed up and made less spooky! :) ha ha!)

this set is SO fun!! it's perfect for creating scenes, clean and simple or one layer cards! i made a lot of ALMOST one layer cards for this one! luckily they're not ALL one layer (one layer cards scare me! lol!)

my first card was inspired by a canvas i saw on pinterest

well, first i created the background with distress paints (seedless preserves, peacock feathers and chipped sapphire) and water and MESS!! lol, my hands were a mess when i finished with this card, but i loved the background, so it was all worth it! :)

Then i stamped the tree, sentiment and moon onto the background! then the REAL magic happended! LOTS AND LOTS OF SEQUINS! ha ha!!
a simple strip of washi on the side of the card finished it off! :)

my second card was done with similar colors (but not exactly!), and with distress inks instead of stains!
(i used distress inks: evergreen bough, seedless perserves and chipped saphire)

i stamped the house twice in seedless preserves and then spritzed liberally with water to make the color tun. and then when it was dry, i stamped the house one more time on top to make it stand out! the bats were stamped 3 times with chipped sapphire!

then i created rest of the background by apply evergreen bough and chipped sapphire distress inks around the edges and flicking with water (which i later regretted...it was so pretty with out the water marks...oh well)

Newton's Nook Designs September Release - Falling Into Autumn

yahoo! day 2 of newton's nook's release for september is here! that's right! did you remember? there are an incredbile FOUR sets being released this on friday! so excited!!

all of the new sets will be available for purchase on September 19th, here!

today we're sharing the Falling Into Autumn! it's SO ADORABLE, and versitle and FALL!!

this set is SO fun!! it's perfect for creating scenes, clean and simple or one layer cards! i see a lot more heat embossing and distress inks, watercolors, ANYTHING! with this set in my future!

my first card is MY FAVORITE!!!

i stamped (close to) the edges of the panel with all of the leave images in different colors of distress inks! overlapping, changing angles, etc.

THEN! to make it even more incredible, i went over the edges with vintage photo and old paper distress inks to give it an edged look. I LOVE HOW IT TURNED OUT!
the sentiment was stamped in the 'white' area, to really highlight it! and then a few enamel dots finished off the card!

i used spray mists for my 2nd card, and lots of white heat embossing!
first i heat embossed the leave images in a fun diagonal pattern! i really LOVE the layout of the leaves!

then i wet the entire panel with water and let drops of the sprays fall onto the card base and spread. i used red, yellow and orange. with just a HINT of green in some places! then when it was dry, i splatters some gold on top!

i used those super sweet bird wood veneers to finish it off! definitely, fall-like, huh?
