inky paws challenge - sketch

**this is my 2nd post of the day! for the lawnscaping fb inspiration team blog hop - click here! or scroll down**

the friday fun keeps coming!
today starts a brand new inky paws challenge, over on the newton's nook blog
this time, it's a sketch!! AND I LOVE IT!!

see? it's an amazing sketch! there's really so much you can do with it! :)

for my card, i chose to work with a christmas set, but turned it into a birthday card! :) ha!

i LOVE that whale from sea-son's greetings! i copic colored him, and then popped him up for dimension over some really FUN yellow and blue patterned paper!

the clouds (my FAVORITE!) are from the NEW spring showers stamp set! swoon! aren't they the best shape ever? i shaded half of the clouds with my lightest grey and then added just a hint of wink of stella pen! it's really cool and pretty in real life!

the sentiment came together by masking part of the sentiment from the sea-son's greetings set with the happy birthday from newton's birthday bash! fun fun fun!

so what do you think? are you ready to try your hand at this sketch? i can't wait to see!
you could win newton's stamps!!!
enjoy!

onto my card!!
i finally played with the super adorable let's roll stamp set!! i just think that sushi is SO CUTE!!

i colored in the adorable sushi rolls, and i just think they are so fun! i pooped up the sushi and gave them all their own faces!

i was going for a bamboo tray, so after i had colored it in the yellows and added the shading, i stamped over it with the woodgrain image from woodgrain backdrops in old paper distress ink! i think that's SO fun!!

ok! next up, make your way to tracy's blog!! eek!! you're gonna think her card is FABULOUS!!

make a wish!

well, hello!!

today, i'm on the newton's nook blog! and i'm sharing this really happy, bright, fun birthday card! :) (i had SO much fun making it!)

i used the lovable (not-so-little) dragon from the magical dreams stamp set!
i colored him up in greys (with just a hint of purple) and then really got him ready to party with some rainbow and glittered spikes! SO fun!! the glitter on the spikes is from my wink of stella pen!

i paper pieced him out, and then on the base of the card i used embossing paste and some white glitter to make the background as FUN as he is! :)
i just LOVE that little balloon image from the winston's birthday stamp set! and i colored some up with coordinating colors and added them with some real string.

i just love this card! the sparkle, the rainbow and the balloons! i would go to that party any day!
hope it made you smile!
enjoy!

it's been too long, my friend

i'm LOVE playing along with challenges! i get to totally impart my ideas with the inspiration starting point, be that a sketch, colors, technique, anything!

i was able to make a card for the new AEI{heart}U challenge! so exciting! this one is all about gradient/ombre coloring! swoon! who doesn't love that right now?

so for my card, i added color to everything with a gradient/ombre feel! and i used LOTS of different distress products! he he! LOVE getting messy!

i took a panel of watercolor paper that i had lying around and stamped the clouds from avery elle's happy camper stamp set (SUCH a fun set!!), in various shades of blues and teals. then i spritzed that with water and let the colors move, and meld and bleed together! sooo fun!
the mountains were done the same way, except i smooched my vintage photo and old paper ink pads right onto the watercolor paper and then spritzed it! then i stamped my mountain images twice and popped up the middle one for dimension! :)

for the gradience in the sun, i colored onto the stamp itself in wild honey and mustard seed distress markers, then stamped onto my card base. :)

the sentiment was stamped onto some vellum and then hid behind the mountains and i love the softness the vellum adds! :) the sentiment was created with the simply said: hello stamp set. LOVE the font of this set, and the versatility!

i finished the card off with some triangle wood veneers (birds, perhaps?!) and that's that! i LOVE it!! :)

hope it made you smile today!
enjoy!

cute little birthday fishes!

i have found that i have been making a lot more birthday cards, recently. which is good, since i always seem to need them at the last moment! but it's odd, because i definitely tend to make WAY more just because, or love, cards! i don't know why!
what kind of card do you make most often?

so with that said, i have another birthday card to share!
i made this one for the current runway inspired challenge going on! it's such a pretty inspiration photo! i LOVE the background of the photo...the fog and trees and softness. sigh. so cool!

my card however, mostly focuses on the skirt, as a source of inspiration! :) and i really love how my card turned out!

i used some distress paints that i just received recently. LOVE DISTRESS PAINTS PEOPLE!! they're SO fun!!! and i'm DYING to find new ways to use them, so please - hit me up if you've worked with them!

the cute little fish and sentiment is from the paper smooches birthday buddies stamp set! this is an oldie set, but i LOVE it still!
all of the fish were colored with copics and then popped up for dimension!

i die cut a little 'wave' from vellum and heat embossed the sentiment and then added a few pearls to the card to represent the bubbles!

fun, right?
i hope so!
ok, back to a very full, but very fun, weekend!
enjoy!

oh hello - some sweet stamp shop cards!

**this is my 2nd post for the day! eek! if you're looking for my Newton's Nook release post, please click here or scroll down**

hello there!
i'm on the sweet stamp shop blog today! and i'm showing a sweet and lovely card i created after i was inspired by this incredible and amazing and STUNNING card i found on the sweet stamp shop pinterest board!

yeah - wow!

i used three sweet stamp shop stamps for my cards today: alpha tabs, too hip, and admit one!

here's my first card:

awww, right? so sweet! and what's cuter than a little hippo floating around with some sweet and pink balloons? lol!

i colored all of the images with copics and then popped them up!
the vellum was die cut and then i added some color by gently distressing the edges with some distress inks!

did i mention how much i'm digging that technique right now...like a LOT! :)

my next card the same, but instead of the romantic and soft feeling of the pinks and greys, i went bold and colorful! and it makes me smile!!

and oh yeah, the sentiment was stitched onto the vellum. stitching and vellum...sigh...there's really nothing better than that, is there? lol!!

so that's it! head on over to the sweet stamp shop blog and leave me a comment telling me what project you found on their pinterest boards that you want me to CAS next! how fun!!
enjoy!

Newton's Nook Designs March Release - Basket of Wishes

well, it's the last day of the newton's nook march release!! i can't believe it's here already!

this is an AMAZING set! perfect for tags, layouts, cards, anythign! and the best news is they'll be available for purchase march 21st here! :)

i think this set is SO versatile!

first i combined the set with newton's antics!

the yarn was just CALLING to me! :)
i decided to watercolor with my distress inks! AND i even masked! that's unheard of for me people!! lol!! i have little newton hiding behind the basket of yarn, about to take off with one he stole!

ha ha!

and lastly, i decided to show that you can totally use this set without the basket too!! i stamped the champaign top over some thickers!

and then, i used a technique that i saw fellow DT member, Danielle, use once: i heat embossed my thickers!!! um, this is amazing people! so FUN! so i turned my white thickers, that were the RIGHT size, but wrong color, into the RIGHT color (GOLD!!!) and the right size! genius!!

to top it all off, i speckled some small, large, flat, and faceted gold sequins and wood veneers to give a sort of confetti feel!

what do you think? are you in love with this set as much as i am?? and did i mention how much i love that color combination? swoon. mint - gold and black - WIN!

sweet stamp shop - march release part 2!

**this is my 2nd post of the day - to see the Newton's Nook release, please scroll down, or click here**

oh you read that correctly!
the sweet stamp shop is releasing ANOTHER amazing set of stamps in march!!

i have two more amazing sets to show of, so here we go!
first up is the adorable, incredibly cute, and oh so loveable cat companion set to the doggy dog set released earlier this month - kitty cat!

LOOOOOVE it!!
my first card so soft and sweet!

i fussy cut out the little kitty image and then popped it up after i added some slight shading, and blush!
awww!! the background was made with distress inks and a stencil. once it was finished, it looked too harsh for me, so i sprayed the carstock HEAVILY with water and all of the areas filled up with the colors and it sooooo pretty and soft looking now!

and the kitty and the mouse are best friends - FUR-EVER! ack!! cute!

next, i was thinking, what's cooler than a hispter cat...not much!!

i took the bow tie and glasses from too hip and totally made the heppest cat ever! lol!
(the sentiment was created by the other new set i'll feature later - lower alpha!)

a few sequins, wood circles and vellum, and you have a winner! :)

my last project with kitty cat also incorporates the new set lower alpha!

i made this FUN and playful layout! :)

the cats were all stamped onto vellum and then lined up underneath the letters (all colored and fussy cut out!). because, let's face it, that's all my cat does! ha ha!

then i used the super cute paw print to make tracks all over the page by the picture and in the top left corner! there's also a sentiment from kitty cat that is next to the picture!

i really love this layout!! and that picture - what a life, right?!

the next set i had to play with is lower alpha!! and it's SOOOO fun to color in (as you saw above!).

i also made two cards with this set on it's own!

the first one is really fun!

i created the background with some mists, water and a paint brush! hello rainbow background!!
then i stamped it all in staz-on ink, added a lot of glitter and then glossy accented the letters!

so fun, right? i think the rainbow on the black really pops!

my last card is one of my favorites!

i stamped the 'love' in white ink and then fussy cut out the 'love you' letters over it! (i really wanted to emphasize the 'love' part, as you can tell!)

then i heat embossed the rest of the sentiment, and then made the cool 'sketchy' effect just by scribbling inside the letters with my white gel pen!! (they look JUST like my favorite thickers EVER - here!)

so that's it, peeps!!
check out the sweet stamp shop blog for the full release (4 sets in total!!) and to see what the rest of the design team has been up to! INCREDIBLE doesn't even begin to describe these ladies! wow!!

oh, and there just might be a discount code there!
enjoy!

Newton's Nook Designs March Release - Spring Showers

what a great week it's going to be! :)
it's time for newton's nook march release!! and it's filled to the brim with happy, spring, well wishing images! SO exciting!

i LOVE this set! it's so adorable and there are so many possible ways you could use the sentiments! and the best news is they'll be available for purchase march 21st here! :)

this little duck has stolen my heart! i have to say!

my first card has the duck as the star of the show! and i just HAD to make his rain boots red! i paper pieced and then popped him up over the embossing paste rain drops!

the sentiment was stamped onto some vellum and then wrapped around the card! i just LOVE how the colors work together!

my next project is a layout featuring my little menn playing their hearts out in some puddles! as most kids do, they LOVE jumping in puddles!

i used the cutest little cloud images EVER all over my layout! they were stamped onto patterned paper and then colored with copics. the little duck was paper pieced again, and popped up at the bottom (he's enjoying the romp in the rain too!).

after a few wood veener rain drops the layout was complete! LOOOOOVE how this turned out! (and not just because it's my favorite colors together! lol!
