another card for the inky paws challenge!

it's friday! :)
that in itself can make me smile sometimes! but couple that with a new inky paws challenge card i have to share, and it's even better!!

once a month newton's nook designs has a challenge and you can win newton's nook stamps! hello! and today i'm over on the newton's nook blog with this super FUN and happy card i created for the inky paws challenge - which is all about COLOR!! :)

love these colors!!

and my card just makes me smile! :)
for my card i used one of my favorite sets - newton's antics!! i love the images, i love the name and i love that cat! lol!! so funny!

first i found some patterned paper scraps i had in the corresponding colors and cut them all to the same sized strips. then i placed them on a diaganol all lined up, and that's the background! :) the diaganola background is also popped up, and so is newton. LOVE me some dimension! :)
oh, and of course, some white thickers for the 'meow' was a MUST!! lol! :)

then i stamped the sentiment and that cute little paw print image on the bottom! and just to do a little more, i stamped the paw print again on some patterned paper that matched the kitty's 'fur' and fussy cut it out (whew!) and added it to the one by the sentiment! :)

so that's it! are you inspired?! are you going to play along? i hope so!!! leave me a comment below with your blog link if you do, and i'll check out your card and leave some blog love! :)
enjoy!

kiss kiss, love you!

well hello!
today i had some time during this extremely rare 'winter' day in south carolina (!!!), to get crafty and create a super fun and lovey card for the current challenge going on over at the runway inspired challenge blog!

that dress is just too flowy, springy, and pretty NOT to inspire, right?

so here's my card!

i used some of my new mama elephant stamp sets. LOVE them!! those little love birds/penguins/owls (from the love quotes stamp set) are not only pretty much the most versatile 'bird' image EVER! they're also soooooo adorable!! i love how they look like they could be nuzzling when next to each other!! so sweet!!

i lightly colored in the love birds with my copics (to mimic the shawl and purse) and popped them up for some extra dimension! the sentiment is from the pandamonium stamp set! :) and, i used that super cool vellum frame beacuse i wanted to mirror the lightness of the dress without hiding that really FUN background i made!

and speaking of the background, i used some white embossing paste, water-colored over various triangles (once it was dry!) with some distress markers and then put a liberal amount of wink of stella over those triangles! :) swoon. love it! :)

so that's it! there's still time to play along with me over there
enjoy!

i colored the cuuu-uuuute fox image and settled her into some sweet grass!
and sorry folks...i still LOVE my vellum! i created the fun banner and heat embossed in white the sentiment! then i wrapped some white/silvery twine around the banner to finish it off!

so fun! i used the newly released sweetheart tails stamp set for this card!

embossing across the miles!

today, i'm over on the sweet stamp shop blog!! go check it out! :)
and while you're at it - check out their design team search here!!

ok, so today, my cards all feature some sort of embossing!!

* heat embossing
* dry embossing
* embossing paste

so much fun!
what's your favorite type of embossing? i have to say...i'm sort of smitten with embossing paste right now! i can't help it! there are so many possibilities!! ha ha!!

here's my card using embossing paste:

love it!! that bright pink really POPS on the white-on-white background! the state image is from the across the miles stamp set (really really LOOOOVE that set!!).
and the sentiment was also heat embossed (double embossing point here! lol!) using the alpha tabs stamp set! (another FAVORITE!!).

the tabs were all popped up and added to the state image! with a little geo tag pointing to my state! lol!

my next card also using heat embossing - love it!!!

i heat embossed the images in clear onto some watercolor paper! then i colored it in roughly with some super fun distress marker colors! :)
i used the same colors for the popped up '500' (which is from the numbers - symbols stamp set!)

i looooove this card! that song totally gets stuck in my head all of the time!! ha ha!! perfect for a states image!

my last card is one that uses dry embossing!

i just looooooooooove woodgrains!! and i think it adds SO much texture!
i stamped the image over some fun patterned paper and then again in a bright pink. then i fussy cut out the state of the recipient and my state and drew on some faces, to add a bit of whimsy!! :)

the sentiment is from the newly released just the basics stamp set!

and those are my cards!
hope they inspired you! and if you so desire, i shared a coupon code over on the sweet stamp shop blog too!! :)
enjoy!

so happy for you

hey there!
today my card is on the newton's nook blog

i decided to break out an older set for my card - i used winged wishes.

i colored and fussy cut out the little baby clothes and then popped them up on the card.
i did the same thing with the clouds, but i also mirror-stamped a few of them, so they would be facing different directions! fun, right?

i love the bright colors paired with the vellum!
the sentiment was heat embossed onto the vellum and that naturally curlled the vellum. but i LOVE how that made the banner look on the card!! it really added more dimension! so so fun!
what's that you (maybe) spy? i used my wink of stella glitter pen to add some soft sparkle to the heart images!

lastly i channelled my inner kristina werner and added some black stitched lines around the card (to mimic the stiching on the clothes!)! i just think this card is so bold!!

so that's it!
stop by the newton's nook blog and see what else they have going on, if you want! and then head back on friday for the latest inky paws challenge that will start!! so FUN! :)
enjoy!

lawnscaping challenge - inspired by!

i love mondays! they usually mean it's time for a new lawnscaping challenge! and today is one of those great days!
the new challenge this time is all about inspriration! and more importantly, being inspired by one of our very own lawnscaping desgin team members!! woah! how do you pick?!

i think that may have been my hardest challenge...narrowing it down to one card from one person! lol!!

but manage i did! (what a great problem to have, right?!) i chose this stellar card from Christiana ! i love that crocodile image and the bokeh and the happiness card that whole card exudes!!

and here's my card:

i decided to CAS her card! i colored in the crocodile (from critters down under) with some copics and popped him up for dimension!
the bokeh was created with the oh so FUN gold delicata ink pad! i used three different sized heart shapes and stamped them directly and one off multiple times for the background! :)
the hearts were from peace love joy, into the woods, and summertime charm.

then i had some fun! lol! i added some die cut vellum to mimic waves and very ligthly colored the top edges with distress ink! um, people - i'm in LOVE! lol!!

so that's it! and as you can see, my love affair with vellum continues! :)

for even more inspiration (if you can stand it!), check out the lawnscaping facebook page! we're dedicated to keeping your creative juices flowing! :)

this week we're sponsored by lawn fawn! so get your card making on, and you could win a stamp set of your choice! :)

sweet stamp shop's january release

***this is my second release post of the day!!! for the Newton's Nook Designs release and blog hop - click here or scroll down!***

what an exciting day!!
today is also release day for the sweet stamp shop!!! and i love this release! it's fun AND conventional!

today, i'm showing off 3 of the new sets and here they are:

first up is the awesomely versatile 'numbers - symbols' stamp set!
i LOVE that the numbers are just big enough to make a statement on a card, but they can also be the background!

i made a layout featuring the numebrs and i LOVE that they're big enough to color in and cut out!

you can tell i popped them up on my layout too! so so fun! and what a perfect way to add some dimension and color without overwhelming the page!

the first card i made was channeling my inner diva! does anyone know the musical rent?
how about this song:

again, i colored and popped up the numbers! but to add even more fun, i added glitter with my wink of stella pen and then added glossy accents! hello shine! (the 'minutes' sentiment was created with the sweet stamp shop alpha tabs - LOVE those!)

my next card is a hybrid of the new numbers stamp set and the new 'just the basics' stamp set!!

i really LOVE this card! the colors are so fun!! and the vellum banner is super cool!

so that brings us to the next new stamp set being released!! it's called 'just the basics' and it's just that!! it has super tradtional sentiments and the quirky, sassy sentiments we all know sweet stamp loves!

my first card with this set is a slider card!
i paired lots of the sentiments up with some sweet flair that said 'hashtag this'! ha!

so fun, right?!

ps - sorry about the obscenely messy white splatter...my little mann decided it would be fun to play with the card before it was dry! eek! that will teach me to leave it on my desk! :)

the last card i made with this set is simple, and fun! i paired the sentiment sup with some images from the chalkboard sign stamp set and let the die cuts speak for the card! :)

the little hearts were popped up for dimension and these sentiments fit PERFECTLY in the banner!

the last stamp set i am priveldged enough to share is the foxy stamp set!! and i LOVE it!! :)

you love it already, don't you!!! well i HAD to make a cheeky card in honor of the song!! (listen to it here if you are curious...or if you want it stuck in your head all day!! ha ha!)

so i stamped the random fox 'sayings' on as the background of the card in a light gray and paper pieced that little fox and grass together! the speech bubble was stamped onto vellum and i LOVE that!! :)

what's not to love right!! SUPER adorable fox image! and i love the pops of color! :)

my last card of the release (sniff sniff) is next! this time i colored the fox in with copics and added some vellum and a more 'traditional' sentiment in the speech bubble! there really is SO much you can do with this set! :)

some of the mushrooms were popped up for dimension and i love the look of vellum and stitching! swoon! :)

wow - another record post full of pictures!!! sorry guys!

so shop away! and check out the sweet stamp blog to see the rest of the design team's cards and the additional set that was released! :)

enjoy!

my second card is a fun and romantic card! ha ha!

i think this set is so FUN and versatile! and those little foodie images are perfect for cards, scrapbooking for PL type albums!! and the good news is they'll be available for purchase january 17th here! :)

for my first card i went fun and bright! i water colored the background in two different shades of yellow then splattered some orange paint onto the base too!

the little hot pepper was watercolored and then popped up for dimension! (love that hot pepper image!!)

for my second card i had a little fun!
i used the cat image from newton's antics and with some sneaky fussy cutting and paper piecing, i put him INSIDE the cupcake!! so fun, right?! (my four legged friend always tries to squeeze into places he can't fit!)

i popped up the main image and added some coloring to the patterned paper! oh, and that little speech bubble? still a favorite of mine!!!! that's from just say cheese! (and it's hard to tell, but i added some wink of stella to the heart and sprinkles!)
