one last sweet card for the week

here's a super quick post (because i'm exhausted, and i want to go to bed! ha!)!

i made an impromptu card tonight for the challenge that ends soon at the sweet stamp shop!

i knew i wanted to try to use the 'sentimental birds' stamp set as a background. and i knew i wanted to make an easter card, so, it pretty much made itself! :)

not that you can tell, but i cut out a sqaure in the middle of the card. and adhered the birds on the patterned paper to the back of the front of the card.

then i used some aweeeeeeeesome twine from lawn fawn to create a border (and bow!).

i popped up the main cross for fun and importance, and then stamped the simple sentiment at the bottom!

super fun! :) and i like the color combo too!

have a good weekend everyone!

enjoy!

a *sweet* sentiment and scene

the first time i saw this stamp set from thje sweet stamp shop, i knew it had to be mine! so now that i finally have it, i had to get it inky for the sweet stamp shop challenge!

here's my card!

i heat embossed the birds and popped up the grass for dimension. it's definately a very clean and simple card, but i love the brightness it still has! :)

there were so many sentments to choose from, but i thought 'sweet thoughts' was the way to go for my first card with this set! :) there will be more...oh yes, there will be more! :)

enjoy!

love life

i made the card below for the latest embellish magazine challenge because well...check out the inspiration photo. sigh. i could look at that all day!

i just love the softness of the photo, so i tried to recreate that with my card. i used lawn fawn paper and stamps for the card! i just love that chevron paper, and it's perfect because it's totally soft!

i made the felt rossettes and then added some teal drops! i thought it was like rain, or dew on the flowers!

i stamped the sentiment on some scrap fabric i had laying around! and guess what? lawn fawn stamps wonderfully on fabric!

hope this card sends clear skies and calm feelings your way!

enjoy!

a sweet challenge

i finally received my sweet stamp shop stamps in the mail yesterday (i was waiting for a certain bird stamp set to be restocked! lol!), and i couldn't wait to get them inky!

(and folks, in case you were wondering, their stamps are awesome quality and give super clean stamped images!!)

so i decided to create a card for thier brand new challenge!

and how could i resist those adorable bunnies on the 'sweet spring' stamp set?! well, i couldn't! so i went with a clean and simple card to feature them!

i paper pieced the bunnies and popped them up for dimension. then i double layered some brown and sparkly pink ribbon for bling! :)

hope it brings a smile to your face! i can't wait to get even more inky!! i'm not completly satisfied until my fingers are all inked up! :) and i have so many ideas for these new stamps!!

enjoy!

inspired by - hoppy easter!

i'm so excited about this lawnscaping challenge - inspired by! because let's be honest, there is so much creativity out there, it's hard not to be inspired with each mouse click sometimes! :)

i saw this card by savannah o'gwynn, and oh.my.gosh! i was instantly in love!!! so this is my inspiration piece!

and here's my take...lawn fawn-ized! :)

i just loved making the little chicken a bunny on the inspiration card, so i thought it would be hilarious to make the flamingo from 'gnome sweet gnome' into a bunny (i used the bunny ears and tail from the bunny on the 'my silly valentine' set)!

the flamingo was paper pieced with lawn fawn's 6x6 paper, as well as the grass. i finished it off with the sentiment i made with 'harold's abc's'.

i had a blast making this card, and i think that savannah o'gwynn is just so talented, you should totally check out all of her work! that will get you inspired to play with lawnscaping too!!

enjoy!

a mann clann layout

i saw the inspiration photo for the latest challenge at paper smooches sparks, and i was stumped!

...for like 2 seconds! lol i LOVE the neutrals with only hints of color!

then i came up with this idea for a layout with 'reverse' colors!

i used a light, netral stamp, and then fussy cut the colors around the stamped image! how fun, right?! i really love the soft look that it gives off, and i'm already thinking of other ways i can use this technique! (well, i don't really know if it's a technique, but you know what i mean!) :)

i layered two ribbons (grey and teal) at the top and bottom of the page. love that color combo and look!

(ps - can you tell i like to play off our last name? *whistle*)

i used paper smooches stamps from 'giddy bugs', 'perpetual bliss', 'eco friendly', 'vegtastic' and 'cut loose'. lots of stamp sets - but you can't really tell! not sure if that's good or bad... :) ha! a few of the images are popped up and the camera has some glossy elements added.

i also used lawn fawn's 'harold's abc's' for the 'journaling' portion! :)

it's a very minimalist layout, i was trying to edit myself and give it a CAS look. i can't decide if it's too minimalist though.
also, maybe someday i'll learn how to take quality pictures of my projects. sigh.

ok i'm out for now! hopefully i can get more crafty time this week to make a card or two!

enjoy!

lighting up your life

my lawn fawn order came! my lawn fawn order came!!

the first thing i did was ink up the gnome image (EEK!!!!!) and get ready for the most recent lawnscaping challenge! i think the sketch is adorable, and i wanted to used it as my inspiration!

i didn't use any of my new paper yet, but i will!

here's my card:

i paper pieced the gnome (love him!) and made the long grass image sparkly by rubbing my glue pen on it and the adding the glitter (side note: i wanted to use flock, but i couldn't find my flock!!!!!! i'm actually really disapointed, i think the flock would have looked a lot better. sigh).

i love that it looks like a balloon! that wasn't my intention, but it works for me!
the light bulb (glossy-ed up!) and the sentiment are from lawn fawn's 'how delightful' set.i have had my eye on it for a while, but just recently bought it with their latest release stuff! i heat embossed the sentiment.

i think this card is super cute! it makes me smile, and i can't wait to share it with a friend!

enjoy!

you're super fun-tasche-tic!

well i was able to make a few cards today, and it felt so good!!! :)

this particular card is pretty hilarious...for a few reasons...

first of all, let's start by saying i made this card for the latest sketch challenge going on at the craft's meow:

i flipped the sketch to the side and made this whimsy, colorful and punny card! :)

ironically, when i first started to make this card, i imagined it made with neutral colors for a dude...ha ha!! so how did i get here?! lol

i don't know, but once i saw that i was making a fun, happy card, i went all out!

the stamp set i used is 'fun{tasche}tic' and it really is!! i LOVE the mustaches!!! ha ha!! i fussy cut the image out, and glittered it!!! who glitters a mustache!?! this must be a first! :)

anyway, quick run down of what i did: circle nestabilities, pom-pon ribbon, dimension, roughed up edges of the sides of the card...FUN, EXCITING, BRIGHT, IN-YOU-FACE patterned paper from sassafrass! :) lol

well, i hope that made you smile or giggle, or shake your head in amusement! :)

enjoy!
